FAQ - Weddings

Do you travel around Tasmania?
I’m up for any location available here in our beautiful Tassie, not a place is too remote for me to visit. I start charging mileage if the location is further than 100km away from Hobart.
*Accomodation fees might apply depending on your destination and package of choice.

Can we meet before I decide to book?
Of course! We can either meet in person over a good cup of coffee which can be in a cafe, your own home or we can even meet at the wedding venue/location (this is a great way to discuss all the details and envision your wedding). And for any long distance situations we can have a chat over the phone.

How much is the deposit?
To book your wedding date, a 25% deposit of the total package price is required. The remaining 75% will be set up as a payment plan to make your life a little bit easier. The remaining amount will be divided into 6 equal monthly payments with the last payment due 1 month prior the wedding. You will receive a payment summary so you know when each payment is due and a notification will be sent 2 weeks before each invoice is due so everything is automated and ready to go.
*Credit card payments via PayPal are accepted and a 2.6% surcharge will apply with every payment.

Can you reserve the date for me without a deposit?
To keep everything as fair as possible, I do not reserve dates for anyone without a deposit. This also applies to quotes, they are not a reservation but merely an overview of your enquiry. You can request to be on a waiting list for your date and as soon as I receive a serious enquiry you will be notified so you can make a decision on the spot. Dates book out fast for the spring, summer and autumn months so it’s best to lock in your date asap to avoid disappointment.

How do I receive my photos and products?
All edited images will be sent on a USB before the agreed deadline and will be posted via standard mail which usually arrives within 2-3 business days after dispatch. Every package includes a private online gallery which you can share with your friends and family via a link. The completed gallery will be online for one month.
All products will be sent straight to your preferred address from the manufacturers.

I would like to see the products that are included in my personalised package, is this possible?
I’ve made samples of all the products I have available and will bring them to our meeting so you can see up close what the fuss is all about. The album is my personal favourite, it’s a real showstopper!

I don’t want my images edited, can you provide me the raw files?
My images represent my business and it’s very important to me how they look. I always edit my images – colour correcting, touch ups and to make them stand out in general. Unfortunately that does mean I cannot hand over the raw unprocessed files to anyone.

Am I able to hire a videographer with you as our wedding photographer?
Of course you can and I would highly recommend you do. Before I start my work I always have a chat to the videographer, I like to explain how I work and learn how they work. We will discuss how to work together without being in each others way but I will say that I like to lead on the day and they can work around me most of the time. If I feel I get interrupted too much I will have another chat to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Can I bring my kids to the complimentary couples session?
I would highly recommend you do. On the wedding day there is very little time to properly get to know your kids so a family/engagement shoot is the perfect way to introduce me to them. We’ll just have some fun, take some candid and beautiful family shots and we’ll also sneak in some romantic ones with just you and your partner. And also, if your kids are very young they sometimes get over tired on the wedding day and the baby sitter has to take them home early which results in not many family pics. So having that family shoot beforehand is more of a safety net in case this happens on the wedding.

Are you LGBT friendly?
100%! I accept and respect everyones personal choices so you’ll always receive a warm welcome no matter what your lifestyle or background is. Being able to be yourself during a shoot is the most important thing for me.

Do you have backup gear?
I have multiple camera bodies, many lenses, a couple of flashes and more batteries and SD cards then I can count. I also bring chargers just in case the unthinkable happens and everything is stored in bags for protection. It’s safe to say that you’re in safe hands with me.

Do you have a backup photographer incase you’re sick or can’t make it to our wedding? I have photographed weddings with a moon boot on, at 36 weeks pregnant, one week after I was bitten in the arm by a dog and on New Years day so it’s fair to say there is little that stops me from not doing my job. However, I do have a lot of amazing photographer friends with a similar style and price range that would be happy to step in in case the unthinkable were to happen.

One of my family members might be difficult to deal with, how will you handle this?
Over the years I’ve photographed many different people in various situations – I’m always easy going and appropriate to the occasion. I will talk, joke, be honest and laugh with you and your guests so there is very little room for any negative vibes. If I feel we’re running out of time or if anything is stopping me from doing my job I will make sure everything goes ahead as planned so you have nothing to worry about.
