I’m Joelle, a Hobart photographer specialising in weddings, families, maternity and the beautifully unpredictable moments in between.
After more than 15 years behind the camera, I’ve learned that the best photographs rarely come from everything going perfectly.
Kids run off. Someone laughs at the wrong moment. The wind picks up. Plans change.
And somewhere amongst all of that, something real happens.
My job is to see it.
I combine natural, relaxed photography with gentle direction and a touch of drama to create images that don’t just show what your life looked like — but remind you how it felt.

Beautiful memories don’t require perfect behaviour.
If you’re worried your children won’t sit still, look at the camera or cooperate for an entire session, don’t be.
They don’t need to.
Let them run.

Let their personalities come through.
With more than 15 years photographing families, I’ve learned to work with children rather than expecting them to work for the camera.
We’ll create the traditional photographs you’ll want for the wall, but we’ll also capture the laughter, cuddles, movement and wonderfully imperfect moments that make your family yours.
Welcome to the flower field.
Tucked away in Port Huon is something I’ve created to bring two of my favourite things together, photography and flowers.
With hundreds of dahlias, roses, wildflowers and seasonal blooms growing against views of the Huon River, the field has been designed with photography in mind.
Come for a family, maternity or couples session. Let the kids explore the flowers. Pick a bouquet together afterwards.
